Such an amazing strategy. Buy something worthless and 5 years later sell it for half as much as you bought it for. Verizon using the government playbook?
Not to mention all the money that was dumped into the dumpster fire that was Oath and VZ media. The trying to make Yahoo news and Yahoo money a relative thing.
The ones involved in those acquisitions no longer work for the company, that's how they avoid accountability.
So we bought AOL and Yahoo! in 2015 and 2017 respectively for a total of $9.9BN and just sold them off for $5BN. If my math is right we lost $4.9BN in that deal. How do these executives still have a job? No acknowledgment about any error in judgement, just a celebration for this "bittersweet" moment and continued praise for leadership. Where's the accountability? Am I missing something?
