I would love to be my manager for just one day

I would love to swap roles for just one day because I have a feeling his job is the easiest in the world. It is not at all clear to me what this man is doing, that is, I have a feeling that he is not doing anything, just sits there pretending to be doing something. Maybe I’m wrong, or I hope I’m wrong, but that’s my personal impression....

My GM was a bottom feeder for years, sucked at sales, had 3 $0 commission checks in 2 years.

Promote the sh—yreps who can talk a good talk but suck at leadership.

Chances are your Manager is constantly having to report and cover for you as to why you haven't participated in a certain metric. It may be hard for you to believe but most Managers do care about their team and they have to constantly answer for your or your teams poor performance.

Ask your Manager to allow you to shadow him/her for the day I am sure they would be open to it.

Being a manager is CAKE.

Except for the calldowns every 3 hours to find out why reps aren't on the board for the flavor of the month metric yet, the constant dm/director passive aggressive bullying in Slack, fit in nicely between manager calls that exist solely to embarrass whatever manager(s) have stores that aren't rubbing themselves off with the kool aid and to highlight the store(s) that are, who are so damn great at whatever they are doing (getting lucky) that their profound "best practice" advice is "um, we just, um, talk about __ with every customer and quote it every time"

The life of a verizon manager is hot garbage at a decent pay. Until One Team happened, you would see multiple managers every quarter self demote or change channels just to get away from the garbage, but now it's not even worth it to be a rep.

At least the bad pay of a rep shields you from 90% of the harassment.... Unless your manager is a tool.

I have no idea what my mgr does all day, and he has no idea what I do, and that’s the way I prefer it. Leave me alone to do my work.
