Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

You know this entire forum used to be filled with people saying “DSD is here to stay”, “We have too many SKUs for these stores to handle”, “My DM told me that we are committed to DSD”, etc. and now those people have either stayed under their DMs desk or are still believing these same lies that their Skippers are telling them. Look...we have all worked for this company and I was a merchandiser for Nabisco a while back when I was finishing up with college. I posted a while back describing my time here and I honestly feel sorry for those that were looking for a good career opportunity and got screwed over by these lies these managers keep telling y’all over and over. It’s like a broken record and for those that think they will still be working their stores, running their territories, and getting to have those all important “one on one’s” with their DMs...sad to say it’s over folks! I have kept in touch with some of my former coworkers at Nabisco and when I left, I left for a better job that has an actual opportunity for a career and one where I wasn’t micromanaged by the Sales Rep or listen to the FT merchandiser complain about every little task that they had to do. If I was in some of my former coworkers positions right now, I would take the package deal that they offered to me and run and never look back. What are my reasons for this? First, the writing has been on the wall for ages and it has been even long before I worked there a few years back so you know that if they don’t get enough people to take the deal the first go around...then they will get rid of you when they have to start phase 2! Second, if you are a Sales Rep, would you honestly want to have to step down into a order writer position or have to work under your FT merchandiser 😂😂 I don’t know about y’all, but the ones on my team used to barely do any work and complain about everything. Last but not least, when you take the deal then you get to tell your DM what a lousy person they are! Honestly, that’s worth the deal in itself! If there are any DMs on this site...just know that when Mondelez makes all of these job cuts and restructures all of your areas, eliminates DSD to lower volume stores, phases out order writing entirely/streamlines shipper displays through major retailers warehouses, etc. ...they won’t need a DM anymore either! Lol Think about all of those high $$ salaries that Mondelez will save along with all of the other positions they will finally be rid of. Yeah, sale volumes might drop initially, but in the long run; no sales/merch team to have to pay, no out of date credits, no liabilities, no incentive plans, no good ole company cars...only pure sweet profit!! After all of this nonsense is over, get a job that actually appreciates you and in the mean time, spend time with your family and those that truly matter in this world!
