Do you all remember also when “MM” would have his supplier SET up the purchasing of classic cars and vans that would then be SET up for events? Then, the agency would “sell” the vehicles that Nike purchased (as they had no need for them) back to MM for $1 per vehicle? This scam was so well known and so long running. Of course they thought they would never get in trouble. Why would they? Everyone knew. No one said anything.

yes the Mohawk was an a–hole to work with, but there are a bunch of VP's who now work for Lululemon that he made look really good. I was in this world - saw it all happening - complained to VP's about it - and my career stalled. (a classic Nike story for any newbies out there - stay quiet if you want to be there for long). I just hope the kid with the Mohawk, who is a person of color, isn't the only one who goes down for some serious sh–ty behavior.

Not sure what this is all about but through Nike I did get a nice furniture SET made out of MapleWood. It was “free”.

Oh my, where to begin?

There were tens of millions of Nike’s dollars flowing through the Mohawk, SET on a single supplier for several years. The $1.4 mm the feds have identified are much less than the tip of the spear. Much, much less.

I wonder if anyone is SET on saving her cankles and ready to expose the whole crooked operation.

The two are peas in a pod, a pod drenched in corruption, kickbacks and underhand deals.

Peeps are feeling the pressure and stuff is about to spew...

He was successful for so long because that is the type of personality that succeeds at Nike. He defrauded $1.4M? I wonder how many Nike VP's and Sr. Directors have lost more than that with selfish bad decisions. Can we say leaders at Nike Tech, how many millions of dollars blown and jobs lost there with no accountability?

Mohawk man is a bad player but so many others at Nike are just as bad, just do it legally.

Hadn't heard about him, but looking at pictures online it makes sense why he rocked the 4" mohawk - made him at least 5' 6" tall. Always have to watch out for little guys when you give them any sort of power.

My f that guy today is the Mohawk Man.

He SET no-bid contract after no-bid contract with a single agency. Millions of dollars flowed through this scheme. Pop up retail is fast paced high pressure work where nobody looks at the bills. High quality, on time and f the budget. Special limited product, crooked cool guy flat hats, and lots of grease for peace made a ripe environment for side deals.

Everyone knew this fish had been through the microwave, but no managers wanted to notice the smell. Things got done. They looked good. What’s a million here and there in this multi billion dollar company. This kind of marketing is the least managed area in Nike, save sports marketing.

The Mohawk took full advantage and so did the agency he SET up to do so much of the work. Crooked millionaires all.

Then the Mohawk started another company with his childhood pal...

Well, this tale does illustrate one way to SET up an agency for financial success and eventual acquisition! Wonder if all the biz articles and awards will still tout the success of it's founder?

I ran into Mohawk Man many years ago at the Lebron 4 Graffiti pop up in SoHo, NYC (I guess he was making money off of that too). We nicknamed him Shang Tsung. He was very rude and full of himself. I promise you I’m not jumping for joy, but I will say, the energy you put out is what you get in return.

It is indicative of the Nike ethos of secrecy, which in reality enabled all this and the perp, and tells why, that all of you are to weak, to actually name names.

You got what you cooked.

OK, I'm apparently not clever enough to understand the subtleties of this company. If everyone knew, why didn't they stop the thievery years ago? They had enough on the guy to WPP a–.
