Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

The real reason that Wichmann stepped down

The shift came after Mr. Witty signaled to the board that he was considering leaving, according to people with knowledge of the matter. Mr. Witty, who served on the UnitedHealth board before joining the company as an executive, is well-regarded by the board, which didn’t want to lose him, according to these people.

Mr. Wichmann stepped down voluntarily, these people said.

Didnt realize Wichman and Hemsley came from Arthur Anderson, explains the constant cut of the bottom 10%. That is the culture they came from, up or out basically. It also explains all the other AA and AC folks at the various levels throughout the company.

This place has so many lawsuits against it. Corruption, fraud, racism, retaliation, discrimination ect. During this pandemic departments were purposely neglecting sick members. I’m sure they will change the name to optum completely because there’s too much corruption tied to the name UHC.

I'm hoping the reason Witty was ready to walk is because of the way Wichmann has ruined the company over the past few years. I've been around a long time and through many CEOs and Wichmann took morale to the toilet.

Wicks said he was retiring from UHG, not that he was retired. So he will probably find another job, or he already found one. Due to a large amount of his salary is paid through stocks, he doesn't need to continue working for UHG. If the stock price significantly increase due to cuts, he will continue to profit as long as he does not sell his shares.

Wichman is a straight beta who rode his friends helmsley coattails at Arthur Anderson. Aa puppet of Helmsley who out lasted his usefulness and was paid unreal amts of money. These guys do not give a c-ap about employees or members. Your a tool for them not even a real person.

Ever heard of ‘hush money?’ BIG money paid to step aside quietly and leave as a retirement. Dave has made LOTS of money and will continue to pad his pocket while enjoying retirement. With stock, investments, benefits package, sssshhhh hush money, etc - he’s doing well.

C suite execs need to be cleaned out (including Witty). Chop at the top! Bring in execs & leadership that give a $&?& about customers AND employees.

Clearly Wichmann is a pu–y. If he was forced out he should tell the media about that. I don't know what he is scared of.

Obviously he was forced out. But the company will remain tight lipped. You will never know the real reasons. He's only 59 and he was doing an excellent job during extremely uncertain times.
