I spent 15 years at BP and went through seven reorganizations with layoffs. Each time is like a game of musical chairs. Eventually, the music stops and you have no chair.

The company has been a longtime advocate of Wind Power. The management holds an extensive amount of Hot Air to share with their lower-level subordinates, before laying them off.
I think this is a great question. Historically, I have been through a round of layoffs. Then six months later, they conducted another round because they were under pressure to further reduce costs because the first round was insufficient. Because BP is going into a brand new area, they don't know what to expect. The nearest they were to these projects came from their work in Solar (photovoltaic) , Wind, and cellulosic ethanol. The share price did take a pounding today as it's now trading at slightly above $20.
I've been hearing some rumors but nothing specific.
