If you're part of North America (or any other GEO/category) for that matter you know that it has been an absolute mess. People have no idea what their new roles entail and neither do their leadership. They're just figuring it out on the fly. A lot of people hired within the last 2 years are realizing that it's not what they thought it was (to be fair partly due to Covid) and senior people are jumping ship because they are finding better opportunities outside. Morale all around is in the toilet.

McKinsey runs Nike.
I don't know if an outside firm did the dirty work of layoffs (a la 'Office Space') but they dumped some incredibly talented and dedicated folks, only to post almost identical new roles within months. It's just tragic.
It's a mess and they know it. We've had strong talent come into our team the past year or two and now jumping ship. Poor execution overall and it impacts everyone.
Nothing like having the realization the people who are supposed to be making the decisions are asking you for ideas. Not a good sign of things to come...
TOTALLY. And they still have the nerve to make us sit through irrelevant “team ignition” meetings. No one can be f’ed to give their feedback and leadership gets “upset” that no one is ‘speaking up’ ...
I wondered how this would turn out. I was laid off as part of CDA so I never saw the aftermath. It looked from afar very hodge-podge and thrown together. Of course with Nike leadership bragging how strategic all the moves were.
I've never seen morale this low at any company I've worked for and I've been at nike (lower case) going on 12 years. The layoffs and demotions are continuing and everyone is in fear of losing their jobs. Nerves are razor edge and the paranoia is rampant. No one knows what to believe or who to trust. People are back stabbing anyone and everyone hoping that keeps their employment secure. Toxic? We're in an internal nuclear war where everyone gets some type of cancer or deformation. This isn't a toilet, it is full on waste management and we're all stuck in the sludge waiting for the sewer pipe to burst.
