I know we are all waiting for April for the next round of retail cuts so with that said- any definitive information? Obviously SMs, but more GMs? And is B2B being cut in any of their roles ? Telesales ? Where the hell should we apply, really?

Working out of west Michigan, around 5-10 employees got terminated due to cleaner replacements. They said “their was a nation wide investigation” before you know it more people fired..... managers, reps, and biz reps
Look at the job board you keyboard warriors retail is hiring for gms, iam, and sms.
@dea+19XlGKP6 Even with the new district realignments there are still stores about an hour away from each other. Besides that what you speak of has already been done so it’s nothing new. It is just not possible to pool staff in certain districts.
It was made very clear to me recently that employees need to be willing to move. So, I’m applying out. I imagine every location is different, so, be observant. Even if nothing happens it’s always a good practice to apply for new jobs just to see what is out there.
"Where the hell should we apply, really?"
Out. Apply out.
Also, there are stores with three SMs out there - though I doubt there will be for much longer.
Dual store is so horrible. Not looking forward to when quotas blend. It's basically like we don't even have a GM. The time She is in the store she's on calls all day in the office. Sometimes she can come out for something or answer a question. I don't even really consider that I have a GM any more. S—s for the SMs because now they are all underpaid GMs. Hope you have SMs that can step up and act like good GMs
Currently working as an SM in a multi-store. It is more difficult have 1 GM as things now have more pressure and scheduling in more difficult. GMs are still lazy and just on calls all the time. Put them in front of a customer and they look like a new hire.
For real. No one has 3 SMs . Also if there are or were jobs posted it was for the people who lost theirs with the re alignment
No store in the company has 3 SMs
So then why are some stores still hiring SMs and GMs right now if they are going to be cut next month. Some of these positions just opened up. I’m fact one store around me is hiring a 3rd SM since they are so busy right now
SMs are pointless when everyone is a keyholder
The plan is simple and will save the company a ton. Pool staff to staff 2 or more locations. GMs will all become multi store. Store hours will be cut allowing for 1 shift. 10-6 for example or 11-7
9-530 shift
10-630 shift
Telesales is overloaded with staff
Care is being outsourced
Core is being outsourced
Wake the — up
@shx+19XlGKP6 That was a different situation though because in certain districts they combined two store locations and have one GM running both and utilize SM’s between stores. Unless all stores go to this format I still see it being tricky.
So, they don't care. The area I’m in, the last round of layoffs affected GMs and SMs and their positions were not eliminated. They actually hired for stores for GM and SMs a little after the layoff. So I’m not sure they’re worried about a whole lot. I’m an SM and everyone has been saying ever since they announced everyone is a key holder one of us is going to go. it’s about to get real hunger games in here between me and my other SM . Only one can stay, may the odds forever be in your favor
Cutting SM jobs without a store permanently closing would be very tricky. It’s not like the position is getting totally eliminated. Good luck trying to figure out who gets cut and who stays. If they do that it will open up a whole can of worms and lawsuits. IMO offer VSP’s first and the cutbacks will come naturally. Actually I can’t see it happening any other way.
This board is nuts. I have been following for years and 85% of the roumors end up being true or partly ture.
It is coming
I call bs on the you will find out stuff. Why would you not spill it in full. Straight spreading FUD at that point.
If you’ve been affected you will be finding out in a little over a week
They do have ops analysts. They are def working for their money currently with the district realignments. They took on a lot of extra stores in most situations. However IMO that should just be included in a district managers duties. Or the DM duties should be the OPs. However you want to frame it.
The ship is so off course we are all going to either sink, hit an ice berg or if the company is lucky find dry land. No idea what these shareholder are smoking allowing this. Are you really happy with our stock?
Do they still have retail ops analysts? Talk about dead wood...
I don't think they care if they can handle it
If I had to guess, they going to see if a GM can truly handle running 2 stores before the start cutting more of them.
I can definitely see all stores with 1 GM cutting an SM though.
