Anyone here uses Cobra after being laid off? How expensive is it? Can we keep dental only via Cobra or we have to have both medical and dental? I have some dental procedures being done and I would like to keep my dental insurance just as is until the works are done if Wells let me go.

Not sure what you are trying to say. This has exactly zero to do with who lost or won. Let me guess, you have never read or tried to use the “Affordable” Healthcare Act, but you have quite strong opinions on it due to your politics. I don’t have that problem, I learned about it the hard way... when I needed medical coverage.
We insult Wells COBRA here, but I am here to tell you, who clearly have apparently never been in need of this, that Wells’ COBRA plan is infinitely better financially than Obamacare. The ONLY people who benefit from Obamacare are far more of the the working poor who are now covered on revised and expanded Medicaid benefits.
Before shooting your mo–nic mouth off you ought to learn a little about the subject.
I hope that you never need the Affordable Healthcare Act (Obamacare), bit I also hope that if you do ever need it, you will take the opportunity to learn the true facts of the program as I have. It’s safe to say that you will be shell shocked,.
@2wbu. You poor man. Your guy lost, get over it
@1pxr+19VmfdE8 Good god!
If you think hat COBRA is expensive you are really going to be shell shocked by the ACA. You have completely no idea what you vote for apparently.
This is your teachable moment child. Make the best of it.
Here’s your hint... the sole useful part of the ACA is the expansion of Medicaid for the poor. You will need to drain all assets prior to getting benefits. S*cks to be an uninformed voter doesn’t it...
When I was displaced, I immediately booked the dentist, eye doctor and any medical things we needed to get done for my wife and I. We have everything taken care of and when the severance runs out, I'll look into ACA as Biden extended it into May. With the reduced income, it will be very affordable. Cobra was just too expensive.
@gtc. Bite me
@gtc. You need to get a life.
“Has anybody here used Cobra after being laid off?”
Just moved you up 3rd grade literacy. Hopefully you’ll get better answers.
@ctp. Please don’t joke about this. You are not funny. Need something to do? Read a book.
One thing to keep in mind is you are earning zero, or unemployment, your annual "salary" is dropping. I was displaced and was looking at healthcare for when my severance runs out and with my new annual income rates start at $131 a month. I have never taken advantage of state assistance but I will when the time comes.
Aslo for those whom were laid off, collect unemployment now. You can do this while collecting severance. I say this because you will get stimulus money included in that unemployment. Where as, that money may not be available to you in the future.
It's free with the new stimulus bill now.
Check out new Covid relief bill for new Cobra coverage starting April 1
the cobra rates are listed in the benefits book, you can look up the answers to your questions.
NO WAY, RIP OFF
Thanks HR again for the great benefit!
COBRA is expensive as hell. I could never afford it and went without insurance after losing jobs.
Are you being displaced? If so you keep all benefits while receiving salary continuation. That's when you need Cobra. Hopefully you will find something soon.
