Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Happy Severance Check Day!!!!!

Celebrate today, all my fellow laid off employees, because we got PAID today! Fidelity can't explain why 2 weeks after vesting we still haven't been paid our owed Stock Together award, but at least we got the big one today to help fund the lawyers we are going to need to get that Stock Together payout!

Thank 8lb 6oz newborn baby Jesus I am debt free, so I can happily start my much lower paying, and much less stressful new job in 3 days! No more quotas! No more BS meetings! No more mid quarter focus changes! No more morning reports of the top 27 important KPIs with updates at noon, 3 and 5 pm! No more pretending development is important when Grow conversations never even happened! No more Susans and Karens and Chads crying on Yelp or Google that they didn't get their way during a PANDEMIC! No more AWFUL DENIM SHIRTS with jet black skinny jeans! No more 5 hour planogram changes!

This layoff may have cost me my house, and my and some of the extravagance of my lifestyle, but it sure as hell didn't crush my soul. Verizon didn't win, I WON. I WON AND GOT PAID TO WIN.

Yeah, Fidelity was telling everyone that they could cash out on march 9th. On the 9th only the people who hadn't been laid off could withdraw. Their phones were loaded with angry laid off people, and the excuse was "verizon told us it's taking more time to process the payment for the terminated people."

Even though Fidelity is in 100% control of dispersement, as per the Stock Together program information.

Verizon is just messing with the laid off people. Scum lords they are anyway....

Yessir, got mine yesterday. The best part is I started a new job 2 weeks before my store closed, so I made out like a bandit. I forgot about the stock thing though, so now I gotta look into that. I want my $1600!

6 weeks into my new job, I have better hours, similar pay as I was making as a rep pre one team(!) and that check for 10 years was pretty good.

I don't miss the denim or the credit cards or any of that garbage! Life is good!

Terminations are sent weekly to Fidelity, but it can take up to 60 days to get the payout. Especially right around now when all the regular awards are being paid. After taxes, it might buy you a weeks worth of groceries, if you are lucky.
