Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

April 1 - Retail changes coming again

I'm NJ based and the next round of "one team" is coming.

Compensation changes (next big move away from commission)

Head count updates (store hours adjusted to allow for one shift already in some markets)
Head count will be hour based next round of part time conversion.

More multiple store GMs / teams

2 incorrect facts in the comments. 1) they don’t have to give you 30 days notice for comms changes in states of territories without union representation. And 2) VZ isn’t waiting for leases to lapse. When they divest stores to retailers they assume the leases. Most divestitures occur with active leases.

Lol you will most likely get an online training in April and the next RIF will be in June, when reps are fully expected to do operational work in store

I think the multiple store teams aspect is just HQ getting ready to quickly and quietly shut down more stores as leases expire. Much easier to shuffle people around if you have them covering multiple locations.

Confirmed 4/1. No commission. Retail hours adjusted for all reps to work the same shift everyday. All reps will be expected to "float" store to store within district. I guess this was an idea indirect gave us.

nice april fools joke. has any looked at the job board lately there are many gm and sm positions the company would not backfill than layoff makes no sense and a bad pr move. my location was a trail for the one shift it was terrible and no one liked it and customers claimed also.

Well, it's March again and like past March?s we have become very, very slow. So,yesterday we had 2 SM, s in the afternoon and the both hung out by the back pos station which had a computer and both didn't move from say 2pm till about 430 the time one of them left for home early. They only went to the back during those hours. Yes ,we were slow but they had no customer interaction, no at the door pre-screening of customers nothing! If they are looking to drop head count drop one of them Lastly, we had a HR rep visit the store in the morning and she waited outside the door? She stood there for about 3 to 4 minutes. Thinking it was a confused customer I went outside and she said she was from HR and not a customer and was waiting to be greeted. So,why the disconnect of what should be done with customer control between Corporate and store managers who let people walk in and make reps control the door or greet customers So should the customer s be waiting outside with other being appointments. No one is on the same page. With the contribution of SS being implemented and SS controling inventory what role do SM s have anymore, oh I forgot micromanaging!

The announcement is coming April. This site is not 100 perfect but has had correct info for the major changes over the past 2 years.

More falsehoods on this site than a QAnon message board lol. Comp changes require 30 day notice so this is clearly bogus.
