I often get asked why I don't leave if I'm not feeling well here, insinuating that it is certainly not that bad here, because otherwise I would have left already. No, that’s not true.
Just because I’m still here doesn’t mean it’s good.
The market situation is such that it is not easy to find a job. Had the market situation been better, HCSC would have experienced an exodus. I may not be right, but it seems so to me. Anyone with potential no longer wants to work here.

There is a mass exodus. So many people have left already. HR cannot keep up with the hiring needs. People at all levels are getting out of the company as soon as they can. Sad.
If they merge with a for-profit, most likely your pension goes too.
I think a lot of us stay because we’ve been with the company so long and have a lot invested — Pension, 401k matching and quite a bit of PTO. I haven’t been happy for quite awhile but I stay because I don’t want to start over somewhere else. I do think younger workers would probably leave, though.
That makes sense. Some markets are better than others. But depending on where you live and your job and expertise, it may be harder to find a good job outside of the company right now.
