Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

FB is not a growth leader

FB is not a growth leader he is an expense manager. It's why he was brought in at First Data and why he is leading Fiserv now. The company doesn't have organic growth left so all that remains is to cut expenses to the bone. This strategy works for a few years and eventually you either get bought out or buy a smaller company that can grow for you. Look at the last few years of First Data and you'll see they were buying up small companies and ISO's to try to kick start growth.

Well stated, @euu+19l5kP7x.

If First Data was doing so well at growth, why then did they let a poor performer like Fiserv buy them out. One would presume that a stupid move. Unless FB wanted to line his pocket and his cronies.

And Jeff Y WAS a growth leader? You’ve got to be kidding me. Fiserv was ‘growing’ at 3-4%, First Data more than double at 6-7% at time of merger.
Yap-ke was the buy back king, one trick pony.
That’s why he was canned and Frank got the job!

You're right, it is hard to believe but a lot of hard to believe things happen in business.

FB is g– by the way. (Bi)

FB and GC are also using the same playbook they used at JPMC, where they were shown the door. Hard to believe they are in charge of Fiserv.

Look at the recent acquisitions as proof positive. FB is repeating the same playbook he used at First Data. The only difference this time is that Fiserv is too big to be acquired as a whole; so he'll need to split it into parts.
