Hallelujah!! Legacy sick hours can now be utilized. How did it take 5 years for them to realize how unfair this was? Wait I know...they wanted to make sure all the people that were phased out couldn't redeem them. Good for the ones that stuck around and a disgrace for those that left with 192 hours that simply down the drain. Thought it was kind of strange that they paid out 16 hours last year. Wow cant believe they actually are going to pay those out (watch though....they will accrue points when u use them) thanks Bentonville...nice to see ya remove the blindfold occasionally!!

I was told by manager we can use our legacy time as vacation and that it would not count against us. However, the manager has to put in the time.
Now if only they would let us use our legacy Personal Time without using all our PTO and (especially) our Protected PTO first....
You say WHY?????? Because they got sued that’s why!!! It’s been 3 yrs of them changing they way it was original used for ! And millions of associates used and cashed out they time back then only for good, caring and dedicated associates that show up to work every day sick or not. To change in away there sick time that would only be screwed out of it. And if you have to quit or get fired them 192 hours (almost 5 weeks of pay ... you totally have EARNED would vanish back in there full pockets . Some one or many have spoken and that’s the only way you CHANGE to RIGHT !! Rise UP dont talk about IT DO IT . Or you will not be HEARD
An LOA would be an option to use a chunk of legacy sick time. Another option is to use a day here and there – with point accumulation, waiting for points to fall off before using more.
So your gonna have to ask a manager ? Good luck with that I don't think that's how it works .
Thank you
In order to use your Legacy sick time, you have to get a Manager to enter your time under Nonprotected sick time, This will take it out of your legacy time. This will NOT protect you from points though. If you ask to use it for a later day, make sure your manager takes you off the schedule for that day.
It's on the wire....search legacy sick time faqs....basically the legacy hours are just like pto.....u will still accrue points for callouts.
What letter did you guys get? I don’t have much in either bank but would like to use it when needed.
It did say these hours do not protect you. I wish someone could figure out how to use them. If anyone finds out please share. Please no speculation only the truth.
Does anyone know how you can use these hrs ?
Letter really does not say a lot on how you can use them . Would of been nice had they told us how we use them
Where do we see the hours I can’t see them
Be careful. You need to find out exactly what it can be used for. I think you have to be out on leave of absence to care for a family member or self and not be on ssd. I don’t think you can use it as vacation or just for a day off here and there, if that were the case they would have just rolled those hours into your pto or pto. Get clarification. Everyone is getting too excited about this and not knowing the facts.
Will you receive points for using the old sick time? If that's the case, after 40 hours you'd be let go for 5 points. Doesn't matter if you have 100 hours then.
You can only use it if your out sick. You can’t use it just because you missed a day.
Seeing that 75% of the long-term associates have had their positions eliminated, have gone through a “restructure” or have had their hours changed so drastically they’ve been forced to leave the company.......it’s no surprise that this is finally happening. Much more affordable to do it now than it would have been years ago when PTO was implemented and sick hours were discontinued.
Received my letter. Says in part. "You'll be able to use your available legacy sick time before tapping into your pto. And protected pto."
Good luck using them. I have a little over 80 and was told they can only be used to for self care if you're sick or caring for a family member that is sick. So like PPTO but I was not told whether or not they take care of any points. Here I was hoping I could actually days off and not just be a "sacrificial" worker.
