SCX will be closed by the 3rd Qtr....Look for jobs now

We have heard here in Atlanta that SCX Loco will be minimized to only a skeleton crew consisting of only a Fuel Track/Dispatch crew, Test Line, and 2 Electricians and Machinists per shift in the shop come October. SCX Car to be closed as well as Chattanooga Diesel. Fuel to be put in by outside contractors only in Chatt. As with lots of stuff here, these could be just rumors...But, a lot that we have heard thus far has been fairly accurate. Good Luck to all

This is ridiculous here at SCX. Tools are nowhere to be found. I spend hours per shift walking around trying to locate them. Nobody seems to care, and I certainly don't getting paid to get my steps in!

As long as I can look on the company website and see dozens of openings for management I’m not doing squat. You gotta play the game. I’m not k–ling myself and wearing my body down knowing I’m going to have to be physically and mentally able to start over somewhere else soon enough. Maybe if the future with NS looked more promising I would hustle a little more. But what do I know? I’m just a number. It’s managment’s job to manage their people and they s— at it.

So here’s an idea for our glorious company, if you want the numbers to be 60% make longer trains, be considered a leader in transportation trim the fat....... get rid of a few of the top dogs. How the hell does the company expect anyone to want to work under the constant threat of layoffs. One of their so called salaries with the bonuses included could save at least 100 jobs or more. Such poor leadership they have turned Norfolk and Southern into the biggest joke.....
Everyone is sick and tired of this sh_t show called a job. Worthless management like lan dythgoe, yes wopp, and that monkey shropshire who wants to be there.
And let me guess you have a secret source, so far Chattanooga, and at least four other shops are said to be closing according to this site. We are all in this together, I am sure if the big wheels decide to close SXC or any other shops we will be the last to know. This company doesn’t care about any of us, or our families, it’s all about the mighty dollar. Roanoke has so much history there with the railroad such a disgrace to see how the company treats people. I am sure with the latest numbers, there will be countless brothers and sisters to lose their jobs in many shops to teach the magical 60%. Prayers to Us all God knows we are going to need them.
