Enterprise Technology is Broken!
The folks in charge of this project don’t have a clue how to run it. They refuse to let us have SunTrust accounts in our test environment!! This is absurd and has become a running joke! They keep changing plans. There was a plan to build an entire suite of test servers to be ready for testing by April. After months of work on this “highest priority” item, it was abandoned for now because they suddenly became aware that the PRE-Production environment was more important and may not be done on time, so efforts have shifted to that. What a waste of time and money!
It is all about procedures and documentation. Release documentation has become so complex that most don’t understand it and have to spend crazy amounts of time in meetings and reviewing endless amounts of ever-changing documentation trying to decipher it. Matter of fact, I am in one of those meetings now. The attitude of the folks in charge of the release documentation is sickening. They act like what they’re doing is of the utmost importance and that if we don’t jump through the hoops they have laid out, our changes will not be approved!!
Let the folks trying to do the work that matters do it! Let the folks that have done many prior successful conversions run this thing!!

Yep all of this is true. The release management process is the worst pile of garbage I’ve ever seen and introduces the most complicated layer of bloated process imaginable. They continue to use testing platforms that should have become extinct along with the dinosaurs.
But we all know this. We all know this merger that was supposed to be about bringing in new technology was just a scam to line the pockets of the executive board.
They get retention bonuses and we get seeds of hope!
