How many hoops would I have to jump through to be approved for stress leave? Right now I feel like I'm drowning at work. I keep getting more work piled on despite already being overworked, I'm expected to help all the new employees which amounts to doing their jobs as well, my manager loves "delegating" his duties to me...I'm about ready to break. I'm taking Xanax, my blood pressure is through the roof, and I'm having trouble sleeping. I would quit but I can't due to my husband's medical issues. I'm not sure how long I can go on like this.

I sincerely hope you are communicating with your physician. First and foremost, please take this seriously and seek medical help. As someone mentioned, YOU and your health are paramount here.
Second, if your physician believes you need to go on health leave and completes the necessary paperwork, there is absolutely nothing Truist can do (legally) about it. In fact, I would be shocked if Truist tried to push back at all.
They are trying to launch a new brand - this is definitely NOT the case they want in court. In addition, the way this mess of a merger has unfolded, and the rumors floating of age discrimination, sloppy HR termination processes, etc., I would think the absolute LAST thing Truist wants is a competent personal injury attorney digging around in a discovery phase and deposing employees...$$$$
It's time to go. You can get another job but ya can't get another life. Start dedicating a little time every night to getting something else. Refresh the resume, apply for jobs, etc.
I feel like this is all of us. At least those of us not lucky enough to receive multi-million dollar retention bonuses.
Health and family have to come first. Can you take a few days off at least to just shut down and clear your mind? Hopefully you’re actively looking for another job if it’s gotten you this stressed out.
So apparently s–c-d-a-l is a blocked word. Not sure why but I hope the OP gets some help. My intention in my response was to help someone out who is in need. Work stress can destroy you.
It is possible to go out on a medical leave and your job will be protected by FMLA. I had to do it about 20 years ago with a different employer. The work was so overwhelming and stressful (60+ hour weeks) and I eventually became s–c-dal. My manager at that job was a beast but he couldn't do anything once all of the paperwork was filled out and I had 6 weeks at home to get my head screwed back on straight. I was seeing a psychiatrist at the time and they take s–c-dal ideation VERY seriously.
You're joking right? They would just get rid of you.
