I got word our group will all get canned in February 2021. Anyone know any ideas how to avoid this?

well, it really is just coming thru the rumor mill. The manager said they are pretty sure we are all done in Feb. How would you read this?
I apply for another role, and some recruiter call me asking me if i want to do contract big data role at wells fargo too. Do you think this is linked? Move full time workers to contractors?

LOL. Based on OP, all of Tech will be let go in February. Seems legit.
You will get severance, or you could apply for a star position.
Apply for another position while you still have a job.
