If someone receives a promotion that comes with bonus eligibility during year end compensation time, would they have to wait until next year to receive any bonus? Or will they get one this year?

I was in this position last year - started my new role before review time and still received review bonus and payment adjustment from old role on same timeline as if I had stayed
bonuses are paid in arrears, meaning the 2021 bonus being paid this Feb, was based on work done Jan 1-Dec 31 2020. You would not get any bonus if you didn't work in an bonus eligible job during that timeframe. If you take a new bonus eligible job in Feb/March of this year, you would be eligible for 10-11 months of the bonus (prorated) for 2021, paid out in 2022, assuming there will be any bonuses..
bonus is based on prior yesr, no proration

Its prorated for the prior position from jan 1 till acceptance and will be at the highwr rate therafter.
In essence a blended compensation payout
