My store closed today. (Houston)
(Last day working is the 30th & the 1st of Feb it’ll be open as Indirect. A few GMs & DMs have been laid off. I devoted a few years of my life to this company but I’m glad I started preparing early for this. Business is business, I’m thankful for the years Verizon has brought me work / life / balance & the doors it has opened....Still hurts because we ARE just a number, but to bitter ends there will be sweet beginnings. My advice if you’re still employed is to take this as a wake up call & PREPARE! Start saving & pick up a plan B. Prayers go out to all affected.

Nice post, Houston. I'm in Dallas also and got cut today. I echo your advice to those still with the company - prepare! Everyone was caught off guard in October 2016 with the first big layoffs. I immediately started preparing and I'm in good shape today with my finances while others are struggling. I'm taking the rest of 2021 off!
Yeah Dallas got hit too. My store is closing on the 31st. And a store about 10 miles up the street as well. Both the stores are less than 5 years old... they spent a lot of money building and opening these beautiful new stores for what??? What a waste. I’ve been with the company 10 1/2 years. Relocated from out of state to come to Dallas and this is what happens... I honestly saw it coming as soon as they started all this touch-less stuff. They are going to phase out retail stores slowly but surely
