Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Still more to come .....

Yesterday’s announcements didn’t mention anything about getting remaining retail stores to the new part/full time structure. We still have thousands of stores filled with grandfathered in 40 hour a week jobs. Most stores don’t even have part time employees let alone anyone working 24/32 hour weeks. One thing is for sure we will hear about it first on here because this lay-off site has been right about everything leaked. FACTS

If you are still with Verizon at this point then shame on you. The writing has been on the wall for quite some time. If you want to stay in the industry then you need to move over to an Indirect company. I make more money at Indirect than I ever did with corporate. Stop thinking VZ is the only job.

Idoit. Metro stores are not T-Mobile stores. Most of these owned a d operated stores were aquired when they took over metro. They are in the process of selling them off and closing them.

T-Mobile has 2100 corporate stores nearly twice Verizon. Your ‘facts’ is how many metro PCs stores they have.

Let's stick to facts.

Here is all you need to know - Verizon is completely copying T mobiles retail model.

As of Nov 2020 Tmo had a total of 9,400 doors and less than 200 of them are corporate.

So stop the BS. Wake up. Verizon is in the process of cutting corporate stores. Nothing you do will change this.

I have insight on the long term plan and the goal is express store model will be the only corporate stores by 2025.

Express stores will be staffed with non commission employees, skeleton crew, small footprint.

All the retail employees that stopped selling because they were angry about the comp plan are looking pretty stupid right now. $800 commission check is better than $0 check and no job/benefits. The few of us that are left have to stick together and hold each other accountable. If you think our jobs are safe, you clearly didn’t look at any of the maps yesterday. Indirect is popping up everywhere. Stop being so entitled.

Come on ,every upgrade that walks in dont turn them away sell them the phone try to maximize the sale! Stop telling the customers to go to resellers or digital. They want you at part time sooner than later.

You are so correct. The plan is done. Corporate stores will sooner be allotted not a head count but "hour" count. Meaning a store will have X amount of hours that can be paid out for all employees and each store can have a mix of 24/32/40 but they want the 40 hour people gone.

The nothing is happening group better wake up.
