Our store just got told today that our store will be shutting it’s doors for good on January 31st. We were given options for severance or applying within the company. So basically they want everyone to be either do telesales and work from home or do customer service from home. Good luck finding a job in another retail location since everything is part time now. This is BS... I’ve been with Verizon for over 10 years. I knew there was going to come a day when retail wasn’t safe anymore. It’s time to leave Verizon.. they really don’t look out for their employees anymore. All they want to do is turn everything into indirect locations.

Oh sh–..
That is 100% the indirect model. No joke. This is awful you guys. I feel so bad for everyone.
No stores in KSMO were closed to my knowledge, but 8 stores are doing the whole blended store thing. Phase one, which starts immediately, consists of two stores, both with their own reps and sms, that are led by one floating gm that splits time between both locations. Phase two, which begins in June, has the reps and sms of both of these locations blending together. What that means is Monday you might be scheduled at one store, and Tuesday you could be scheduled at your sister store. Like I said, 8 total stores are doing this. The pairings I caught were Liberty and Barrytowne, Marriam and Oak Park, Corbin and Olathe, and then there was one more pair that I missed but I think it's on the Kansas side. The decision on which gm they're keeping between each of the two stores has already been made so 4 gms were laid off.
I was laid off two years ago after 15 years. I was a indirect account manager and I told everyone who would listen this day was coming. It finally did. Best of luck to anyone impacted. Sh–ty time to lose your job
Fake news
Can you name stores in KSMO impacted?
And were they turned indirect or just layoffs?
It's interesting how VZ laid off people today and Tuesday and run their credit video on LinkedIn yesterday.
KSMO RETAIL is being effected today!
Even if I apply for telesales, doesn’t mean I’m gonna get it though. I’m not guaranteed a position within the company. I have to apply and interview just like everybody else that got let go.
"They really don't look out for employees " lol you have options to have a job and complaining!! It may not be what you want but you haven't list money yet unless you quit.
If you want the game plan.. this poster has nailed it

Can someone just tell us what the game plan is ? We are in a store, slow as can be, appointment only,
Why is it that mo–ns above my pay grade to let us know what the hell direction we are going in
Leaving Verizon was the best decision. I was there 10 years! The grass is greener!
The person who keeps on posting this is not true is like an imbecile shouting to the whole world that the Earth is flat. She clearly has no idea what she's talking about.
Northeast lost some DMs and they are realigning the stores.
Just landed a new job. Stop holding off praying for a VSP. Get on indeed and steer clear of the Verizon mind screwery. Take control of your future instead of putting your fate in their hands. You obviously don’t trust them, or you wouldn’t be on here.
For now-Enjoy D-Day
I feel the NE and Midwest already went through this phase years ago. Anyone up north hear anything?
Lol what isn’t true? Why would I lie about my store closing? Is every retail store going to close? No... duh. But they are making huge cuts this time around. Sooooo be aware.
Not true
North Texas
Just say it. This is untraceable lol
It would be a blessing to get the same package the offered when lots of retail went wfh
South region. Not sure if I’m allowed to say what city and state though. I don’t want to freak anybody out that might not be effected.
Where are you located
