Anyone know how many of the 2900 have been notified? 1200 in N Europe is the only number I've consistently heard.

Manufacturing was not immune.

Insider view: The advance 3M structure has created more layers of management. Mainly collating data and reports from the various countries. Skills required are Powerpoint and Excel. Such a waste of additional resources.

Insider view: Solid but uneven 10 percent hit to non-manufacturing jobs globally. Plants largely but not entirely immune. US mostly told yesterday. Europe announced but just starting a longer process. Latin America and Asia mixed by country.
People chosen have nothing to do with capabilities/tenure, many of the cuts will slow the growth the executives claim they want.

Not much is known for Corporate Research , so far in 2021. However to improve productivity they plan to hire more middle management very soon and have already promoted quite a few middle managers so far.

More managers, more ppt slides, more updates, more meetings, more mind maps....the usual time  tested and proven method to increase R&D productivity is in play again!

Consumer needs to lose the fat. Too many doing too little. Especially the big VPs
