More retail stores closing and being converted to indirect locations.

Head count being downsized, positions being eliminated, district managers and director changes.

Just the start Verizon 3.0

It's a major RIF. Half the leaders in the Great Lakes market have been given packages.

They are just getting more access to our systems. So you’ll hear less “you have to go to a core store for that”

It’s not a massive conversion to indirect. Now some locations may but we also have been doing that the last 5-10 years

Indirect have a much lower operating cost to Verizon. The employee liability falls on the owner of the indirect. For example health insurance, 401K, HR support.

You all are hilarious. In many markets indirect locations are more costly than corporate owned doors. Not true in all areas but in many. Customers want an easy an unified buying experience so a greater alignment of indirect and corporate makes sense.

I have been thinking for years Verizon wants an exit strategy to get out of retail. Merging corporate retail an indirect seems like the first step. After that, converting a direct store to indirect will be seamless and quick.

Corp becomes indirect

Sounds like an exit strategy for Verizon to get out of retail by setting up a path to 100% indirect locations at some point. Step one is to merge corporate retail and indirect which in the future will make a corporate stores transition to indirect even more seamless. Am I right?
