Does this mean potential layoffs ? Very scary and uncertain times. I am a new employee and wondering if it make sense to leave or ride this out.

ummm - it is also christmas time and managers may be sending cards or gifts. correct managers are unable to see the home addres sunless they go into the application...it is a lousy system. you may also be getting a title promotion or years in service or other award.
Staff management doesn't have your home address available for your manager. I have heard that some are asked to update information before being displaced, but I am also hearing that it's for sending you covid safety kits. So...Either you are getting a covid kit, or displaced. lol
CPG wants to make sure you have the right home address because they are sending safety kits to all team members

Are you a remote employee going forward? The group I lead just today started asking for all of our employees’ physical addresses because it is not information that is in staff management for us. We’re doing it because we turned to permanent remote and need to set up everyone’s personal MAC Address. To you and everyone on this board, don’t let everything spook you. It’s not worth it.
There could be lots of reasons for a request for this info, try not to let your imagination get the best of you.
Do you like your job? If yes, don't let fear drive you to quit without another role you are excited about lined up. Either way, never hurts to put some effort into job searching so that if the worst happens, you aren't caught flat footed.
We wouldnt tell him to run. He does need to face reality.
