For IT folks that got laid off today - are we eligible for CA unemployment beneftis?

I applied after two weeks and got approved. The severance package is different for everyone.
How about Alabama?
In CA, you need to wait to file for unemployment insurance benefits until after you 60-day notice and severance are complete.
You should be OK in CA, I was laid off in July and I did not have any problems applying.
I don't know the CA laws. If you're on 60 day notice, I think you apply once that is up.
