I know of one technology manager in Des Moines that was laid off today.
Someone in another thread said that Des Moines was hit hard.
Is this true - does anyone know about multiple layoffs there?
If it is true, it kind of puts a lie to there not being a "location strategy."

My area lost 10 managers, individual contributors cuts are planned starting in January. This is just the beginning.

@1lsw+18lEAlE0 you obviously do not work here. The one thing this management team has been transparent about is their antiquated worldview to have everyone back into the office and concentrated into hubs.
Devastating.
Layoffs in our team came with shortest meeting from uppers at last min. Couple gone without warning, seemingly randomly picked, stateside, west coast. Rest of us now have double work.
With most people working remotely now and in the future, location and your “hubs” you all talk about will become less and less relevant. Layoffs won’t happen because you work in a hub or not. They will come because there are too many of “you” and they don’t need as many of “you”. And you’ll be laid off if you are an underperforming “you”. So if you want to stay with WF, do your job you get paid for and do it well.
So does that mean two from Charlotte?
Today was not location based, but it was pretty Tech heavy. A couple groups in Tech got hit harder than others and that could wind up also meaning that a couple locations got hit pretty hard. My larger group in Tech lost multiple people. Don’t know the breakdown, but I know at least one each from Charlotte, Des Moines, Minneapolis and Charlotte, so that would indicate it wasn’t location based.
Saul's been very open about where he vacations and that's about it.
I've been to half a dozen or more of his AMA's and I always leave knowing less than when it started.
Our team lost a very good Manager in WIM today.
Another IT manager let go, again from a service delivery team, and someone who's been a great help to me over the years.
I think everyday there will be someone laid off.

Not location based, I know of one manager let go today because they want to move us into agile product segments.
I'm in IT.
I have no idea what my agile product is, I support datacenters.
