Business specialists usually aren’t licensed, also get paid more than a PB1. Also PB1 and PB2 can basically do the same things a Business Specialist can. Do you guys think they are next to get canned/axed/let go?

Don’t really need a license or special training to work retail banking. There is no need for the retail job family to grow. Even wealthy private clients regard the branches as glorified order takers. Have you ever talked to a twenty something advisor on the platform about a complex financial decision? If you have, as I have, you rapidly realize that here is no use for the personal visit beyond accessing a safe deposit box or having them correct their mistakes.
@1hoo+18lCus8Q In this case, I'm not licensed. Wonder what would happen since we have a licensed banker in our location already. Not really afraid of getting Displaced, would just rather get it now than later so I can strategize the next move.
Am also in the role and been wondering the same thing . Honestly we are going to end up like chases structure, with 1-2 bankers and one of them been a specialist banker who helps business, heloc, loans, high balance accounts and are licensed, makes more sense because of our ceo coming from chase
As someone in the role, I’ve been wondering about this. We have been basically told to dial our books, but with very little products to offer, many clients not wanting to come in because of the pandemic (or don’t have any needs) plus our (Wells Fargo) reputation this role has become meaningless.
Been hoping they restructure this role or honestly give us a severance (get rid of this role) and just move forward with our lives.
Let’s be honest. As a business specialist you are a couple years more trained then a entry level banker. With major layoffs in retail banking you will now be helping non businesses customers due to less staffing. All we can hope for now is that they displace the cheaper labor before you and I. Let’s keep our fingers crossed
Would guess they are needed more now than ever since business banking was restructured and more clients will be pushed downstream. I imagine that job family will need to grow.
