HPE finally will move to India.
Many are moving out of California for sure. Software engineers from all over USA, atleast 18-20 states and college graduates are moving into California. In 1991, Time magazine said that CA dream is over, Forbes in 2006 and many are beating the same drum now. CA always bounced back, with increase in population in the last 20-30 years. I know it is challenging times now. Texas is also suffering from decreased oil revenues now. 70% of tech IPOs are from California in the last 2-3 years. Texas got only $3 billion for startups recently where are CA got $90 billion according to Bloomberg business news. CA dream over ? Think twice.
If you move to a small city, you end up smaller opportunities or choice is less when compared to CA. Only a few are moving, not a lot.
How about you leave California. We will all be better for it.

The current Hewlett Packard Enterprise is formerly COMPAQ based in Houston 2 decades ago, so it is just back home, they never create Silicon Valley, it is Keysight Technology and Agilent Technology create Silicon Valley under Hewlett and Packard.
The company that made silicon valley leaving CA speaks volumes about the current state of California. I hope that most people don't agree to relocate so that they don't bring the ridiculous ideas that ruined California to Texas. Oracle and Tesla have come to the same realization that CA is a failed state.
If HPE weren't in decline this would be a much bigger statement on how bad CA has gotten.

Leaving the Bay Area says more about California than it does ANY corporation. CA has become a filth-ridden communist wasteland.. at least the large populations centers have. Wise companies, and wise people, are bailing out to start new lives. The losers and parasites that remain will continue to drag the left coast further into the sewer.
California is not all the same. Telling someone to move from the Bay Area to Houston is a lot different from telling someone from San Diego or Roseville to move to Houston. Getting out of the BA's extreme cost of living is far more attractive than being told to move from SD or RSVL. In fact, when that has been demanded by the employees, less than 10% of SD/RSVL employees agreed to move to Houston. Moving to a swamp has to be more compelling.
Now if you are not from California originally, Houston might be a bit more attractive.
Just another sign of the troubled financial state at HPE. Doing business in Texas will be a lot cheaper than California, and so will the cost of living for employees; however, Houston blows.
As a side note, I did check the $400.00 desk clock that Hewlett Packard Enterprise sent me after laying me off after 35 years of faithful service to confirm that HP Enterprise is indeed not a computer company but the logo could suggest that it could be a rental car company.

It’s funny because people think it’s HP Inc. and not HPE. That’s how weak branding is at HPE. People in this industry have no idea what HPE is compared to HP Inc.
HP Enterprise is not a company - it's called Hewlett Packard Enterprise or HPE.
