This company has totally ruined me on any kind of retail work. Recently my dog had an accident as I was getting ready for work. I had to rush him to the vet and it turns out that he required surgery. I called in to tell my SM of the situation and I TOTALLY got the 3rd degree not only for not coming in, but for also needing the next few days to do aftercare. I quit right there on the phone.

@1ege Amen. Too many juvenile whiners here.
Well with dog surgery and after care I'm sure that's not cheap. Glad your parents will pay for it so you can quit. Adults dont have these options.
Has anyone on here over 22/23? Seriously..some of you sound so young and so immature. Venting is good but the " oh they treated me so bad". " I hope the company goes down in flames" .comments like that sound like high schoolers making them. What other jobs have you had? And if those past jobs were so great why did you leave? And why do you stay at BBB if it's so bad? I really think many of you have no clue about the retail/business world.
The fact that you quit over the phone is just what Bloodbath deserves for treating employees like trash.SM out to rescue his or her own rump.
Come on now..do you think a bank is any different? An insurance company? A school? I understand taking part of the day or the day it happened off..maybe but for aftercare you could make other arrangements. Just the fact you quit on the phone shows some insight that you may not be good with authority.
I love dogs and all animals..but businesses have to run..I mean what if the dogs recovery takes 6 weeks? They should let you take off? I am going to guess you are very young as it is not just retails..it's business..and Target would have done the same thing. Hope doggie is okay.29
You did the right thing! Hope your dog made a full recovery
I hear Target is almost human, for what it is worth. I hope your doggie is better!
