I was quietly laid off last month. I knew it could happen at any given moment. I wasn’t angry. I was upset but I wouldn’t give management the satisfaction of thinking GF got the best of me. In the weeks since then I’ve had a few offers from recruiters and I'm more than ready to move on. Now when I think about the company I’m glad I still have my dignity intact.

Before starting your job search, get an attorney. See if you can sue the company / the manager / director / the VP / HR. That's should be your first step.
GlobalFoundries lays off or “fires” older worker who are making more money. I know. It happened to me over 5 years ago! I got an attorney who fought fir my rights and won! I was awarded a hefty settlement and now working at a job I love! GlobalFoundries will also let go workers in small groups to avoid public reporting... Yes, they are evil-doers! Your CEO was a master of this when he worked fir IBM... Now that entire division no longer exists at IBM! Tech workers who were art school flunked are safe. Like pound puppies they are grateful and will defend the company... If you have LEGIT SEMICONDUCTOR skills, leave now...REAL companies are hiring down south!
