Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

How has everyone managed under the new “ team commissions “ plan ?

In our store the checks have been ranging from 900 -1300 and totally controlled by RIS. There has been a significant deterioration in drive amongst reps, especially those who were once heavy hitters. I do believe any type of pressure to sell has been put on hold because of the covid situation. This is fair and should remain so for the next several months. I imagine some reps are just tanking it and putting very little effort in and probably stick out like a sore thumb. I wonder if any manager has put a rep on a PIP for this ? Anyway I also wonder about the future of those who have a 40 hour work week and what will become of that ? Last year for obvious reasons there was not nearly as much attrition in the retail stores other then those moving to telesales. I think Verizon thought a lot of tenured reps would leave but it never happened. I imagine there will be some major changes coming once again for retail stores.

Keep licking that boot heavy hitter. Trust me you are just being used until something better comes around. You have no value to the company.

People wanting to go back to the stores 🤣🤣🤣. If your in telesales and want to go back to the store your crazy. Calls are constant your day goes by fast and OT is available if you want extra hours. Tell me why you would want to go back to the store?

Honestly its horrible in store, lets look at it, appointment only , pushing upgrades to digital or to indirect and best buy, we have reps sitting around doing nothing and are expected to “turn it on” when an appointment comes in, cmon how can upper management not see the lack of motivation?

Most if not all the "heavy hitters" have left the sad state of affairs in stores. With not much safety protocols, miserable customers, inept managers,,anti employee survey s, and non motivational commission structure with the threat of making you a part- timer sooner than later.

@1exd+18UQUvmf LOL@ heavy hitter sitting in back and coming out when it’s busy to feast. Dude where in the world did you work to observe this ? Most Heavy hitters that I saw helped three times as many customers then an average rep. It was a simple formula that worked quite well for them and usually had nothing to do with being good at selling things. Quantity over quality was instant 3-4K checks month after month. Moot point now though. BTW nothing is slow about working in a retail store these days. Since most are understaffed due to covid reasons reps are helping one customer after another.

If you were a heavy hitter sitting in the back 90% of the time only to come out when it's busy to feast... Then yeah you are gonna hate it. The only people I know that are happy are the kind of people who want non stop work. (Makes time go by faster). If you are looking for slow based chatty work stay in the store.

I know of two people who took the telesales job but regret their decision. They are probably going to quit because they don’t want to go back into the stores.

The WFH role is 1000% better than the store and everyone that i know that has swapped agreed. Dont know where you’re getting your info about people wanting to go back to stores because that’s 100% bs

Idk where you are but where I am we are at about 50% staffed even with the cuts to head count. PIP is dead you won't be fired for numbers anymore. You might see some GMs trying to coach people out but it's toothless. You will just be intimidated into slamming accounts like we always have been. They want you to quit yes but they still need employees.

Most of the people in my store with heavy tenure didn't take the package. I think at this point most would have including my self. However hard to say cause I do hear people complaining about the WFH roles and even some willing to come back to the store at 32 hours. I wish they didn't do away with the 40 hour shifts just so I could transfer out of my p–p hole state. It's crazy because all the stores in the territory that had cuts "being overstaffed" are and have been since Aug "understaffed" Like seriously running on barely enough employees to operate. One call out could close the store for the day. The people they are hiring are something else that I won't even get into. As far as sales goes, no one cares, you try, and that's about it. It's pretty clear Verizon is trying to create a participation award culture. The part that gets me is with One Team and Grow RIS p–p they still be like "hey guys we really need you to sell some verizon protect home, we need X amount by X date" Like for real my tigga? With this environment and job now, people ain't buying things they don't want and you're barely at all paying me for the things that they do want. Get out of here. When clearly the most important thing is RIS and surveys how would they try to PIP you or coach you? Hey Rep you didn't sell enough XYZ this month "well I did try and most of all provided a great guest experience that pays me and the team the most and also is clearly the companies priority" The only way you're getting in trouble for what we know as sales is if you are getting a ton of bad avoidable surveys. There aren't any sales targets anymore, just job duties which basically amount to "pretend to care"
