Target’s same-store sales up 17% over the holidays

So how did your store do this season? We will soon see M numbers.

Say what you will, these are tremendous numbers and keep in mind these numbers are going against a pre-Covid holiday season from 2019.

The Target lesson is not the Macys needs to start selling lettuce but that Target understands flexing toward and accommodating market place changes. Loungewear, sweats, snack packs, board games etc. should have been accessible curbside.

Maybe macys should sell groceries instead of clubroom and alfani!

Yes, to the previous poster, Target stayed open since they did sell groceries and was deemed essential. Soo, I would definitely put Target up against Walmart as those businesses are very similar. Red Bullseye againt the Red Star...just not the same.

Bwahahahaha...so Target as a retailer is a non-comp. Not really but let's play.

Howz about we discuss Nordstroms, by gawd even Dillards who doesn't have an on line presence, can you imagine that! Maybe go lower to TJX and examine their recent stellar performances ALL of these going against pre-CV numbers.

You'd be smiling today if you bought DDS or JWN 8 months ago. Gotta know when to hold and when to fold and which hands are simply dead cards.

Comparing M to Target is foolish because they're not the same. Does your 17% include grocery and electronics? Isn't Target deemed an essential business? NOT THE SAME. Go away!
