Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Allstate Day of Change protest planned

The Allstate Employees For Change committee has organized and scheduled a "Day of Change" protest during Monday January 25th 2021. There are hundreds of fellow Allstaters from multiple departments ranging from front line to division leaders already committed to participating. From 10am to 3pm on Monday January 25th you are asked to log out of all systems and cease work functions to protest the unacceptable work conditions, unwarranted layoffs that affected thousands of our brothers and sisters in 2020, and the impossible work metrics that are designed to keep us from succeeding and receiving performance bonuses, raises, and promotions. We must stand up for our rights and treatments. They must realize that without us they have nothing. Exercise you right of expression on Monday January 25th. We must have and push for change! Thank You!

My team is fully participating and looking forward to it. Those of us in this same area plan on meeting for lunch and enjoying each other's fellowship as a part of our 5 hours if peace.

Good luck to your walkout but You guys that support this are id–ts to go down this road...either deal with it or leave. This will do nothing but get people fired...which may be what some of you want but others don’t.

I was laid off in 2020. I appreciate your willingness to prove to these id–ts what failure they are. These bullies have to realize people are not robots. Unless people quit all at the same time TW, EB and such coukd care less. All they want is to get rid of older employees and older tenure employees.

What’s a day supposed to prove? Need to go for at least a month in order to make a real difference. Maybe involve the news media...

We were told it is local time zone to spread it over the day. Whenever it is 10AM-3PM in your time zone you participate. Even agents are said to be participating. Looking forward to doing my part!

Wait is this 10 am to 3 PM Eastern, Pacific, Mountain, or Central time? what about those in Ireland or India what time will it be for them!

It would be interesting to see what would happen but realistically only a few will do this and those that do will put their names at the top of the next layoff.

The best thing you can do is find another job, show them you are more valuable to other companies and the other companies will pay you more.

I hope this works because I’m so behind on my pending claims and I’ve been told I’m about to be put on a performance management plan followed by termination if I can’t get caught up . I’m not lazy nor do I lack the will to work . I’m working 10-12 hot days plus all weekends trying to keep up with what they’re assigning us !
