Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

Can you imagine the next ranking cycle?

I'm sitting here thinking about how awful the next ranking cycle is going to be. Now it's just a more concentrated pool of brown nosers.

What are the chances they get rid of this ridiculous system? Are they just going to layoff the next bottom 10% again and again?

The IMO severance package is 25-50% less than the other oil majors in Calgary. Don’t think they were generous. They’re only generous in comparison to XOM in the US.

Company will try not to give the package money next time or will keep it bare minimum as per Alberta Work. They also have some BS lawyers, who give them critical aggressive advice.

They will only keep supervisors / Managers and some old folks close to retirement (less then 5 years) and get all work done by cheap BTC / cheap short term local contractors. This will keep Management to get more salary and benefit till complete destruction. If you are not in Management or very close to retirement, you should be worry. You can k–l yourself by work, it won't help your job as puppet management only follow the study result (as per data analysis criteria). They don't care about the company or employees.

No. You are supposed to be grateful to even have a job.

The people who make decisions about the ranking system benefitted from it and continue to benefit from it, so they have no incentive to change it.

They will do it till end of 2022. Again management will start to fire from May like last year and massive layoff will be at the end of the year. I

The system is not going to change, though I would love for it to happen. Brown-nosing and servitude to your bosses are expected of you and unless you succumb to that principle you'll find it challenging to navigate. Good luck.

If you haven't learned to s— up early and often to the people responsible for your raises and job status, your parents failed in educating you.

They have that stupid ranking system for over 20 years. They will never get rid of it.
