I understand that the pandemic has changed a lot, that a lot is different now and I am happy that I still have a job. However, generally speaking, it is very unfortunate that after 15 or more years of work the pay raise is so small, almost not worth mentioning, that I am less and less able to pay the bills. I tried to get pay raise in all sorts of ways, I worked like crazy, however, it wasn’t worth it at all. The only thing I earned was an illness as a result of stress.

They have begun cleaning house in our store already. Tenured people. No matter how well performing they are. I overheard a manager say they want to try to unload 60% of the highest paid hourlies. Their theory is that even though they might take an initial hit in sales, it’s easier for them to train someone new for half the price. They also plan to unload anyone that took any kind of leave this year, or has any kind of ongoing medical issues like diabetes. Again to save onto payroll and benefits costs going forward.
Sometimes I just can’t believe the things that I’m hearing, but the way things are anymore, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

Hey ! Why isn’t anyone upset that Marvin isn’t responding to the fact that HD gave all their hourly employees a permanent $1/hr raise, and they all received up to 160 hrs paid for not taking the COVID leave...????
