Ever wonder why they played videos of salespeople from Wolf of Wall Street and Boiler room during training to try and motivate everyone to sell? If I recall it didn’t turn out too well for those individuals in the movies. Not the best example. Classic Oracle.

“You don’t have to know the product” my favorite line from “class of” training. Maybe second to “pace pace lead” or what ever they called it. They all said they had to say it due to corporate I think but not to follow it because it sounded bad and didn’t work if I recall. I guess Preston didn’t care lol. whatever got huge numbers of new recruits in the door. Just my thoughts.

Sales organizations, not just Oracle’s, tend to lack any real self awareness - especially in sales management. This is actually pretty typical of sales behavior I have witnessed working for 35 years in tech. I’m not excusing or condoning the behavior, just acknowledging it. I certainly have always found that sort of behavior distasteful, if not nauseating.
