Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

You choose to stress over nothing

I don't understand why people can't enjoy at least the few days or weeks of safety we get every once in a while. The earliest we can expect more layoffs is December. That's been confirmed several times by now. And yet you still have people in the throes of anxiety wondering if today is the day because it's Tuesday. FFS, relax! You're not doing yourself or your health any favors like this.

: @1ljq+185hiDen, “at least you have a house” is simply envy. It’s a heck of a lot of work, savings and scrimping just to get a down payment, let alone pay down enough debt to get a mortgage. You would do better to ask advice from your more responsible colleague.

@1esc, at least you have a house. I live in a tiny apartment and am hoping to change that but not under these current circumstances here or anywhere right now.

@1esc+185hiDe... why the heck would you ever have your current checking and savings accounts with Wells Fargo? You couldn’t be using a worse bank to manage those finances.

How about we all grow up and stop insulting each other.

People say things on the internet they would never say in real life.

Sounds like I hit a nerve. Your post shows how little you know. Go back to playing video games.

You know there is nothing much to be happy about working at Wells Fargo anymore. Just waiting to be laid off. That means no income. No way to pay your bills anymore. Scrambling to find a new job. Dropping your current checking and savings accounts with Wells Fargo in order to find a better bank to manage those finances. Cashing in your Wells Fargo 401K to a better investment. Hopefully not having to sell the house, move and get a job in a new city. Very depressing environment working at Wells Fargo at the present time actually. Pretend to hope you are not one of the people on the layoff list and yet still be TOTALLY motivated to do your job as usual. Wow. What has happened to this formerly good company? Employees are in "depression" mode right now. Yep.

1lva+185hiDen Right? We are on a layoff site so if we want to vent/freak out, whatever so be it!

I'm not one that gets stressed whatever happens happens and I will be fine but if anyone is the type to stress this is the place for them to vent so leave em alone i say. People stressing over people stressing are the problem

To quote Baz Lurhman:

“ Don't worry about the future

Or worry, but know that worrying

Is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing Bubble gum

The real troubles in your life
Are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind

The kind that blindsides you at 4 p.m. on some idle Tuesday”

To the OP... The thing is, you don't need to understand why folks in an anonymous chat room are more anxious about the future than you are. You don't know them, their situations or even their job functions. (The market is hotter for some job disciplines than others.)

Even if you were referring to anxious colleagues you work with every day – as opposed to people here – still not a requirement that their POV aligns with yours.

I'm with you in thinking that worry alone doesn't solve anything, and a good course of action is to control what you can... e.g. actively job search. But unless someone asks my advice...

It's hard to read your post and think it was well-intentioned or meant to be helpful. Nobody appreciates being scolded or patronized by a stranger. So to quote you... just relax.

OP is out of touch with reality. I have a deep dislike for sanctimonious pricks. Truly talented people don’t feel the need to put others down. Hope you can find a more constructive way to build up your fragile ego in 2021.

We stress because we have a lot at stake. Enjoy your lack of understanding. You'll soon be promoted at Wells Fargo.

First, FY CSucker, I'm a millennial with a family and the only source of income and stressing just like you Boomer. Turn off Fox, it's rotting what little is left of your brain old man.

Previous commenter nailed it with the lack of empathy and respect observation. OP is too busy giving advice no one asked for, judging and shaming. This “influencer-wanna-be” is unable to influence anyone.

OP is clearly immature and unaware, no matter her age. I would advise people to not engage as it appears to be a waste of energy.

What a useless post by the OP and pretty much the same for the comments.

Two questions: How old are you? How long have you worked for Wells Fargo?

You are bold enough to press your point twice, so be real.

This has nothing to do with being young or a millennial without a care in the world and everything to do with understanding of the situation and being prepared. There is literally nothing you can do as an individual so there is zero reason frit, fret, complain and twist yourselves into knots. If you’re upset that others can be calm in the face of calamity it shows your own insecurities and lack of planning have an insurmountable grip on your life. Layoffs have been communicated for what, a year now? If you’re mentally stressed by the possibility of being Ishtcanned now you need to get better at the game of corporate employee life. Golly Clark, you just put that non-refundable deposit down on the pool. Good luck.

I do remember being young and not having a care in the world. I never watched or read the news, I trusted my leaders, I hadn’t lost anyone I loved, still thought life was fair and every story was going to eventually have a happy ending. I don’t want to take that away from you, but part of growing as a person is having respect and empathy for what other people are experiencing from their frame of reference.

Geez. People are stressing over their family’s continued livelihood. Imagine that.

You must be a millennial living in moms basement with no worries if you lose your job.
