Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

IT Department Being GUTTED

Meetings this morning and several full stack developers and application developers quietly notified their job will be disappearing in 90 days and to look for positions in other divisions. Meanwhile we continue to post profits amid every other company seeing losses and those of us the company does "value" are being worked to death with overtime. This has to end soon. We can't just perpetuate chaos indefinitely.

US Bank is circling the drain. Their business model is outdated. Apps like Betterment and Robin Hood are eating their lunch. The downsizing will continue until they are sold or plain out of business. It was a great place to work for a while, but things change, especially technology, and leadership at US Bank has failed to adapt. There are lots of better tech jobs, just keep your skills up to date.

It’s not just US Bank. Layoffs are everywhere, every company. Even business owners are struggling. This is the reality in this day and age.

Don’t take debt, don’t have car payment, live within your means and you won’t have to worry about c-ap like this.

I've been telling you this all year. Move out of this bank while you can, on your own terms, find a future that will suit you. You don't own anything to US Bank and nobody will judge you if you move on. Do it soon.
