Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

How many times can Meg Whitman fail?

Recent article about her attempts of making a streaming platform to compete against Netflix, Hulu, and Disney becomes a failure:

How many companies is she going to let down?

Bernie Ebbers (World Com / MCI) was also a Billionaire also.

The definition of success is not defined by one being a BILLIONAIRE without understanding the who,
what, when, how many were screwed over for Meg to attain the dollars...

I would say she has not failed, she is a billionaire after all, I would say she succeeded.

I think Meg can fail 9 or 10 more times, tops.

The failure of the app [Quibi] was predicted by many in the Silicon Valley tech ecosystem, with one critic, Rob Enderle listing this as the most recent in Meg Whitman’s ‘repetitive failures’ due to her ‘inability to take responsibility for mistakes, an inability to support subordinates, a focus on shifting blame, and a lack of subject matter expertise.’” (https://techspective.net/2020/08/07/meg-whitman-and-predicting-the-failure-of-quibi/)

Can't comment on eBay, but Meg did not buy Autonomy, her short-lived predecessor did. Back then, had no way of becoming a successful cloud provider, it simply couldn't fund the investment. It was the correct decision not to do a half-a– job (as it was doing at the time). Online forums allow such a lot of misleading garbage to be disseminated...

Investors hopefully now understood whatever she touches turns sour. eBay, HP(E) and now a streaming service.
A lot of shine, but no content. She made huge mistakes also when acquiring Autonomy and exiting the cloud provider market. Handing it all the Microsoft in return for solid hardware orders.
Look where the companies are today.
Not to mention the thousand of jobs she slashed with her actions.
Her wealth only allowed her to go to elite schools... she clearly did not listen to the teachers...
