I can’t remember if this company has ever been managing workforce reductions less effectively than now. Correct me if I am wrong. There is a lot of unfairness. In my opinion, BP needs better practices in how layoffs are managed but I doubt they will ever adopt them?

Agree this is the best of a bad situation. No has done a better job than many others. No good way to do this.
Having been through layoffs at BP and other companies, I would say BP is handling it better than most. Face it, layoffs are always going to be messy and no process is perfect, but I do think BP is trying to do it as humanely as possible. That being said, it is never humane to the person who wasn't selected.... good luck everyone.
They claimed the market did it to them so no accountability to deliver anything of value. Same old story.
