Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Merchandisers get no respect

The way management talks to our merchandisers is so disrespectful and they pay is mediocre and they take care 75% of the club they deserve better.

I am a Merchandiser Team Lead. My Merchandiser Assistant Manager literally sits in the office all day eating snacks. She doesn't help what so ever. My Merchandisers complain to me about pay every single day. I even lost a few of them once the front end got a raise. Some days it's literally just me and one other merchandiser trying to get the club to look good.

I am a merchandise assistant and I work my butt off with my team to get things done. So not all mangers are office rats .I am a busy body and enjoy the interaction with my team and members . We work and have fun . We get the job done !! So don't knock all assistants please .

105,499 is the average pay that I found online for G.M.'s - our manger takes vacation every 6 to 8 weeks.

The typical Sam's Club Assistant Manager salary is $53,691. Assistant Manager salaries at Sam's Club can range from $43,105 - $77,297 - again found online. These people also take time off every 6 to 8 weeks.

Pretty cushy job and nobody watching the store.

Yeah when my manager told me they company was raising the cashiers to $15.00 an hour due to the turnover, I laughed I told him if you are a c-appy worker with no ethics and call in all the time, paying more money will not fix your turnover problem. If they took time hiring people instead of just filling holes, then perhaps they might get good workers. Some of the people they hire don't even care about their appearance. Some look as if they just rolled out of bed, they dress horribly and are dirty.

I agree with you 100%. These lazy m* / managers need to get out their a– and do some s. I was a front end cashier until I decided that this was too boring, and then they got promoted!!! What the f! I'm now stuck in the freezers where it's cold, and heavy lifting is involved. And guess what the front end has four call-offs a day, and the reason that they gave them raises was to keep the front end from not quitting. that's some backward a– s and they should have thought about that before they started f giving them m promotions! I literally say daily, that is above my pay grade, get them lazy a–, standing around, not doing s*, cashiers, to do it.

I agree 100 percent. Merchandisers work hard. They are responsible for stocking, zoning and helping members with items. I cannot for life of me figure how why they treat us badly. The cashiers just stand around and do nothing when we are not busy. I have worked with the front end for years, so many do not sell credit, they do not sell upgrades, unless there is a plus challenge going on. I hope the rumors that management will be cut are true, in my opinion they all need to go. Our head manager is never around. Must be nice.
