What roles impacted in HPE Houston? What departments?
Got my WFR call first thing this AM. I came to HPE as an SA via acquisition and always knew this would happen one day becauseHP/HPE has always been known in the industry as disloyal employer. Merit and quota attainment mean nothing. You never know you stand.
Oktoberfest (WFR) 2020 vs Oktoberfest (WFR) 2019 based on what has been posted on the discussion board comments does not appear to be as many employees at HPE Houston Site impacted.
Octoberfest 2019 1/2 of the 4th floor where HW / SW Engineering (Jim Kuo, Scott Farrand) teams were WFR'ed....This year based on the notes Sales Organizations primarily impacted unless there are later post that updated.
I got a shocker from my 401k account ! If you work less than 3 years in hpe, you lose all the 401k match and gains within those 3 years.
Lost close to 12K in my 401k. Came to know about it during roll over.
This company s—s big time. Got affected by lay-off 3-4 months ago.
Now with sales people being laid off, the remaining sales guys who stay behind with get a much higher target to achieve, and when they don't meet the set quota they are not paid a good %age commission. Therefore sales isn't a lucrative carrier choice in HPE anymore, Org like Nutanix and Pure are doing a much better job with the salesforce they have, keeping them on job and not laying them off at this time is sheer motivation , so they become even more committed to the success of the organization.
Great perspective.....for many who worked at HPE I was amazed that Antonio Neri and his incompetence was able to attain the CEO level for HPE. Antonio so far has done and incredible job of puttting HPE out of business. What a joker.
Strategy by Org chart "Swizzle" and filling the boxes with even more incompetence VPs, Dirs, Mgrs, is what led to the HPE Pandemic.....over the years with no cure insight......Keep your HPE, HP, or Compaq paraphernalia maybe able to get some pennies out of it on Ebay.
Kind of classless that Antonio Neri tells analysts that they are going to have a massive profit increase for next year, while announcing major layoffs less than a week later.
Anyone know what engineering or operations teams were impacted ? Or was this just a Sales only WFR for today ?

No one is safe. EAM's, storage, pointnext, compute - all impacted.
Is the storage team the one affected the most?
I was with HPE for 11 yrs and got my notification today. I was in storage. Good luck to everyone that makes it through today.
I'm a Pre Sales SA in the Storage Division and I along with someone on my team were both WFR'd today. More than 10 years with HPE. Really a sad day.
Some consultants in PointNext let go today as well. Would not be surprised if more to come.
Anymore sales roles been let go this afternoon? Is today going to be the only day people are let go or will this extend into the rest of the week?
but it can be outsourced ,like most things.
People in non-sales related customer facing roles are safer than others. You don't turf people with the technical skills needed to implement the product, you lay off those who just read the marketing materials and tell you how it's all supposed to work. A sale is pointless if the customer doesn't get it implemented and running.
In all seriousness who do they have left to sell the product?
