Wilson, NC footprint will be much smaller, in the future.

When BB&T announced the new Wilson building (see article below), these were the stats:

New building holds: 650 people
This article about a new Wilson building is from 2018

``````````````````````````````````````````
All Wilson employees: 2,200 people
I'd expect them to bring the total Wilson headcount down to approx. 1,000 in two locations. The other 1,200 will retire, die, or be laid-off by the time the new building opens.
That article is from 2018, much has changed since then
The date on the article is 2020. This is happening now. Although I'm sure there were layoffs in 2018 as well.
I'm wondering if there will be ANYONE in UCC in Mauldin when all is said and done. I've seen several departments gone or soon-to-be gone.
That says it all, "We don't need as much on the support side as we go through these conversions and get things finalized.""
That's very sad, I know many who got laid off 4 years from retirement. Looks like the majority of back office support will be gone. How deeply sorry to see this, very upsetting.
Wake up people - they are k–ling their employees just until they can get through merging these systems and processes and once they have used them up they're going to fire them. Get out while you can!
Quoting from the article:
"Bank executives told analysts that more are on the way. They are considering accelerating cost-cutting measures that also include branch closings as soon as December and January.
In July, King told analysts that Truist has “a very aggressive personnel rationalization plan in process. The plans are well developed and it’s just a matter of executing the plans.”
  • chief financial officer Daryl Bible said that "in every quarter, as we go through these system conversions, we're going to have continued full-time employee closures."
