Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Merger Rumors from 12 years ago

So, Wells was supposed to merge with GS 12 years ago. But we got Wachovia instead. I guess wrong decision! But maybe 12 years later we still have a shot at GS?

“Merger Rumors: Morgan/Wachovia, Goldman/Wells?
Someone was cranking up the rumor mill yesterday. Gossip shot around the world: “Morgan Stanley Considers Merger With Wachovia”, “Wells Fargo, Citi Have Expressed Preliminary Interest in Washington Mutual”, “WaMu Puts Itself Up for Goldman-Run Auction”, “Wells Fargo and Goldman Sachs in merger talks”, and lastly, “Mortgage bankers enjoying current underwriting guidelines.” Remember that Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs are the last two large independent brokerages on Wall Street…”

Wells executives have all been the leaders associated with the volume of issues. Wachovia leaders brought up many over the years and were ignored or gotten rid of (not all). There are many Wachovia leaders who stink too and endorse the good ole boys club like J H at WF A. Multiple levels and too many executives who have been associated with poor decisions and don't do $hit

I think they should do it. Name or ‘Wells Sachs’.... pronounce Sachs as ‘S—s’ and it’ll be an extremely fitting name

If Morgan Stanley is allowed to buy out completion such as E Trade and now Eaton Vance, I don’t see why Wells Fargo can’t do the same. Granted, the Asset Cap has to be lifted first which I think will happen by mid next year. Wells always had an eye on GS. Maybe now is the time to pull the trigger.

Regulators will not permit Wf to merge with anyone until we fix our s__t. We already are a risk to the banking system... a merger would make us a bigger problem

WF is seen as a second rate bank. Merging with GS will never happen as Goldman does not view WF as a peer. This isn’t a rumor more of a fantasy or dream!
