Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

BP HR is not on your side

I made a huge mistake of drinking the kool-aid and actually believing the c-ap about HR being there for us and to help us deal with any problems we might have at work. Well, I've certainly learned my lesson - even if the price was rather steep. Don't make the same mistake I did. They are here for the company, not you.

This is a very vague post that tells us nothing.

What actually happened?

Unions are there to protect you and the lack of a union will give workers less power. Unions are a check against management malpractice. And I'm not pro-union just pro-American.

Just to clarify for you. HR are never on the side of the individual, ever at any company. The quicker you realise that the better. It’s not a conspiracy it’s just the way it is. HR and Legal in all companies are always there to protect the company. You’ll realise that’s the case when you trust them as your advocate and see the negative repercussions.
