Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

A post out of curiosity.

Online sales are up , but at our store sales are way down. The last ad hit and it usually means extra foot traffic, but not this time. We added extra help to cover, but wasn't needed. Yes, extra fulfilment orders.
We keep hearing that 4th quarter will make or break us. And more store closings to come, beyond the already anoucment of the 200 .
Will there be more employee terminations , or FT to PT ?
What are your thoughts..., just concerned.

Are you not aware it is ad (as in advertisement) NOT add (as in math)

You are aware that COVID is still around aren't you? There are still a lot of people who are wary of shopping in store. I'm not sure I understand why you are scratching your head over the lack of foot traffic in the stores because of an add.

As much as a dB you all think MT is, he posts weekly videos of what is going on and thanks the people for their hard work. In my 20 years with this company no one has ever done anything like this. I know that the layoffs have been devastating but at least we are moving forward. Granted we will never compete with Amazon but this guy is trying. The old leaders never would have done any of this. I’m wearing my life preserver hoping for a great future.

Time for another round of tenure layoff. So much toxicity in this forum from them. I hate this company, this company is going down hill, this company wont be around in 2 yrs...
Give it a rest and look for better opportunities. Places are hiring right now besides BBBY. Your voice does not matter to this company especially from tenure employees.

2020 is a year like no other. I think there is no predicting anything due to the pandemic. Online shopping was growing like crazy before COVID and I think now even people who would like to shop in person are hesitant.
