Threatening to fired the laid off

I hear bellevue yard sent out termination letters to laid off employees and started hiring new people...any truth to that, hear it's because people won't come back

Wake up , salary will be all that is left.The company can cut their pay in half,take away vacation ,make them work 6 or 7 days a week.Plus they will not be under a Union agreement.

Umm... the union is doing nothing about it . As for the appendix M. I’m on it and it’s awesome... keep my call back rights, I’m getting a nice chunk every month and I’m working another job.

How deep is the layoffs? Car repairman with seniority of 15-20 years in the furlough? What are the unions doing about it?

Furloughed electrician at Bellevue yard it's a rumor all furloughed employee grab your contracts and read up on appendix m. Electricians hearing is oct. 12th this is a severance package to sign away rights or 60% of your pay for an allocated amount of time based on years of service. I have recieved no notice from the carrier to return to work offered temporary post in toledo and transfer to louiseville ky. Laid off in april 2020

It's true! They recalled all furloughed employees most of them told the company to shove it. Lots of dismissed and resigned xx designations on the seniority roster

I agree, who tf would go back. I threw away 20 yrs with them, ain’t worth it. Retirement is nice, sure, but when your covered in dirt at the age of 65, no thanks. I don’t have enough fingers And toes to count how many coworkers have died within 5 years after retiring. There’s a lot better out there with zero stress compared to NS

Furloughed employees, once notified to return to work, only have a limited time. If they fail to return within the time period, their names are stricken from the seniority roster. Been like that 100 years. The letter you speak of might be the letter stated they've been terminated because they failed to return once recalled.
