Is there currently a union within the company and how would somebody join, if not how do we look into starting one, there is NO protection for the workers.

Not defending or attacking Unions; but, saying ‘let’s start a union’ when Carl Icahn is involved is like waving a very large, red cape in front of a bull. Just ask TWA, Caesar’s and a whole bunch of companies that Carl has taken-over over the years.
@2zzr+17hFCcGc - Hear you’re saying there is an upside. Thanks!
The downside is your position will be outsourced or offshored immediately. No impact to the company, large impact to you. If you are unhappy, go work somewhere else. You cannot force XRX to fix your little scenario for you. That’s your responsibility.
In non tax funded settings, Unions give higher wages to employees than the market supplies. This is paid for by paying other employees in the company less.
This is entire HCL deal was to free up revenue for stock buybacks and dividends, which even now, the company cannot afford. Toss new Unions on top of this and you will bunkrupt Xerox. If your function is emails and/or talking on the phone, you will be replaced. The only positions that are union safe are boots on the ground. Ie technicians, manufacturing, etc. That would also bankrupt Xerox.
What harm is there in collectively bargaining now? It would have been better a few years ago but based on where things are at I don’t see a down side.
Yes, no “protection” for you OP...just fuser oil.
We have a tie for the dumbest XRX ever. OP go work somewhere else. There is no "protection" with this kind of revenue decline.
300 union employees in Webster. 95% of them were hired before 1991.
Manufacturing workers have union but Xerox
Management over the years has pretty much deballed them.
You are about 20 years late, my friend. Go forth and find a better company to work for, there are many.
Only specific jobs within manufacturing are union qualified.
People on the manufacturing floor and toner plant are generally in the union.
