Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

5 things.....views are my own

  1. People should be selected for roles based on merit, not made to fit a selection criteria.
  2. You should NOT run a multi-billion dollar, multi-national company with your mates.
  3. Expecting to beat profit margins of other multi-billion dollar, multi-national companies at their own game, is arrogant and just plain wrong when they have been playing that game for much longer than you.
  4. Your are only a number, never let them convince you otherwise.
  5. There is life, a glorious one, outside the once respectable walls of our company.

Agree, especially with your no. 1. The whole posting and interview process is a complete joke. HR and everyone involved will tell you that your experience, competence, and delivery history becomes moot as soon as you get in the interview. As long as you can b—s— them about “behaviours” you will get the nod over vastly more qualified applicants.
